A tranquil oasis with 3 miles of hiking trails. This 115-acre offers well-marked trails winding through forested areas, meadows, and scenic streams. Be sure to look for the wildlife that inhabits the sanctuary such as deer, various bird species, and butterflies. There are spots perfect for meditation or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.
The park is developed and maintained by the City of Parkville and its volunteers.

English Landing Park where the river shimmers and dances in golden light.
Another jewel in Parkville along the banks of the Missouri River, this 68-acre park boasts scenic 3-mile walking trails that meander alongside the water's edge. Take a stroll at sunrise or sunset and witness the river shimmer and dance in the golden light. This park offers a variety of recreation outlets that attract everyone from families and bicyclists to walking and running enthusiasts. Amenities include a large playground, boat ramp, picnic shelters (available for rent), a sand volleyball court, a soccer practice field, a baseball field, and the iconic eagle carving at McKeon Stage.

Swope Park spans over 1,800 acres—larger than New York City's Central Park. The Swope Park Trail Loop, stretching 3.3 miles provides a moderately easy trek accessible for all skill levels. Shawnee Mission Park Trails

The Black Hoof Park Trail, a 5-mile loop, offers breathtaking views of the park's expansive lake, with beautiful scenery and well-maintained paths. The park also offers several picnic areas. Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area
For those craving a more rugged adventure, the Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area is a fantastic choice. This area not only features stunning trails but also offers educational programs focusing on native flora and fauna. The Burr Oak Loop Trail, approximately 3.5 miles long, leads you through a beautiful forest of oak trees and rolling hills. Loose Park
Loose Park is a beautiful and serene escape in the heart of the city. A 3-mile paved walking trail, a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or pick a peaceful spot for a yoga session. Make sure to stop by the Civil War markers, tennis courts, a water park, picnic areas, and a Rose Garden.
