Itinerary at a Glance:
This itinerary takes cultural wanderers into the layered heart of Central Europe through Prague's gothic spires, its ancient Jewish Quarter, medieval hilltop fortresses, and a dramatic medieval town with a church built entirely of human bones, before crossing into Vienna's imperial grandeur, world-class art, and legendary coffeehouse culture.
We will have a 4-day Vienna escape by our rented bus - seamless and unhurried.

May 28 Friday: Arrival in Prague: The City of Spires
Arrive at Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG)
Airport to Hotel Transfer - accommodation in the Old Town or Malá Strana
Rest.
Take a walk of Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) - one of the most breathtaking urban spaces in Europe, a medieval masterpiece ringed with Gothic, Romanesque, and Baroque architecture.
Dinner at TBA (optional, pay your own):
We will cross into Malá Strana (Lesser Town) at the western end of the bridge and find a table at a quiet local restaurant tucked into the cobblestone lanes.
Try svíčková, a slow-braised marinated beef with cream sauce and bread dumplings, the Czech national dish.
May 29 Saturday: Prague Castle, St. Vitus & the Royal Hill

Castle gardens - the finest single view of Prague lies here: every bridge, every steeple, every red-tiled rooftop fanned below you.
After lunch, we will descend through Hradčany and into Malá Strana, pausing at St. Nicholas Church, one of Central Europe's most glorious Baroque interiors.
Option for Dinner: A Special Dinner at house-brewed monastery beer - must reserve in advance & details will be sent to participants.
May 30 Sunday: Mělník Castle Wine Country & St Peter & Paul Church

Tour Theme: In the Bohemian Countryside and Chateau
The Church of St. Peter and Paul next to the chateau. Its ossuary contains the bones of thousands of Bohemian plague victims, sealed by imperial decree in the 1780s and only reopened in the 20th century.
Just 45 minutes north of Prague, the Bohemian wine region unfolds along the rivers, and its crowning gem is Mělník Chateau, a stunning Renaissance-era castle perched on a hill directly above the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers.

Brno rewards the curious with no crowds, a skyline-dominating castle, and one of Central Europe's most quietly extraordinary cultural experiences - the Capuchin Crypt.
This is the kind of stop that becomes the story you tell when you get home.

3:00 pm City Tour - Old Town Hall and the "Brno Dragon" (a preserved crocodile) hanging from the ceiling. Cathedral Viewpoint, Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul.
Dinner on your own. Suggestion - Modern Czech Dinner at Restaurace Jakoby or sample traditional pub food at U Mamlasů.
More option: Legendary Cocktail Scene
Brno has world-famous nightlife so grab a drink at the upscale, The Bar That Doesn't Exist (Bar, který neexistuje). Alternatively, ring the bell for a surreal cocktail experience at the hidden Super Panda Circus.
June 2 Wednesday: Brno to Vienna
Suggestion: Before or after breakfast, walk to Freedom Square (Náměstí Svobody) to see the phallic, black-stone Astronomical Clock.

Morning: The Spanish Riding School Lipizzaner Performance
The Spanish Riding School is one of the most extraordinary performance experiences in the world, and one of the few that cannot be replicated anywhere else on earth.
Afternoon: Hundertwasserhaus & Kunst Haus Wien
A wildly colorful, organically shaped residential building completed in 1985 by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. No right angles. No straight lines. 200+ trees growing from balconies and rooftop terraces. 1,000 completely unique windows, each with a different handle and frame. In a city of imperial symmetry, this building is pure joyful rebellion; described by design critics as "the most bizarre-looking building in Vienna.
Late Afternoon: Stephansdom Catacombs - 11,000 Souls Beneath the City
The Stephansdom catacombs contain the remains, stacked bones and sealed burial chambers of approximately 11,000 people - bishops, Habsburgs, Viennese citizens — in vaulted underground chambers dating from the 14th to the 18th century. Climb the North Tower immediately after for sweeping aerial views over the city from 60 meters.
After the Capuchin Crypt in Brno and the Bone Church in Kutná Hora, this becomes the third, and most intimate meditation on mortality in your journey.
Your Evening: Have Dinner at the Naschmarkt - Vienna's legendary 500-meter outdoor food market.
June 4 Saturday: Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere & Klimt's The Kiss

Vienna's most magnificent imperial palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 1,441 rooms and 430 acres of formal gardens. Built as the Habsburg summer residence, it rivals Versailles in scale.
Have coffee at the Café Residenz inside the palace grounds, an imperial-style breakfast in one of the most elegant settings imaginable.
The Kiss at Upper Belvedere Palace: One of Europe's finest Baroque palaces and home to the world's greatest collection of Gustav Klimt. The permanent collection's crown jewel is The Kiss (1907-1908), a painting of two entwined figures shimmering with gold leaf, the defining masterpiece of Austria's Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) movement.

Suggested Experience: Close the day with a twilight ride on the Riesenrad, Vienna's legendary 1897 Giant Ferris Wheel in the Prater. After the Ferris Wheel, stroll through the Wurstelprater, Vienna's old amusement park surrounding the wheel, with beer gardens and historic rides operating since the 18th century.
June 5 Sunday: This Day Is Yours with Option: Viennese Concert at Cafe

Vienna has a tradition of concert cafés - coffeehouses where live piano music fills the room nightly. These are not tourist shows; they are part of the city's DNA. The pianist plays Strauss waltzes, Schubert, and Mozart while you sip your Melange and the evening deepens.
Suggested Experiences:
- Walk along the Ringstrasse: the grand imperial boulevard with the Opera House, Parliament, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Rathaus, and Burgtheater all in one sweep
- Shop for souvenirs

Breakfast and Dinner (non water, special drinks are yours).
Option: 8:00 am Yoga at a Park
Dinner (time to be confirmed close to date and maybe moved to another day): This is a traditional Czech folklore evening with musicians, dancers in regional costumes, folk songs, and a hearty Czech dinner. It feels like stepping into a Czech countryside celebration without leaving Prague. Guests are often invited to join the dancing and singing.
Prepare for next day's departure back to Prague departure.
June 8 Wednesday: Bye Europe. Hello Home!
Breakfast, Hotel Check Out, Airport Transfer.

Pricing Structure:
Double Occupancy / Shared Room Total Cost: $ 7,180.00 (inclusive of applicable taxes and required deposits)
Cost per Participant: $ 3, 590.00
Double occupancy accommodations are limited to a maximum of two (2) participants per room. Participants sharing a room will share the total accommodation cost for eight (8) nights and nine (9) days. Bedding configurations may include one king, one queen, or two twin beds, subject to availability.
Each participant is individually responsible for all additional costs, including but not limited to:

Participants electing double occupancy must arrange their own roommate. Cultural Wanderer does not guarantee roommate placement or matching.
Single Occupancy Total Cost: $ 4,870.00
Single occupancy accommodations are designated for one (1) participant per room. The participant is solely responsible for the full cost of accommodations for eight (8) nights and nine (9) days, including breakfast where applicable.
The participant is also individually responsible for:

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per participant is required to secure participation.

The remaining balance is due on April 15, 2027 and is non-refundable.

Full payment must be completed no later than April 15, 2027. All payments are non-refundable after this date.
If cancellation occurs on or after April 15, 2027, one hundred percent (100%) of the total trip cost will be forfeited, regardless of reason.

Changes and Cancellations by Organizer
Cultural Wanderer / Hegina A. Fuller reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary, accommodations, transportation, or scheduled activities as deemed necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, safety considerations, or operational requirements.
In the unlikely event that Cultural Wanderer cancels the trip, a refund will be issued in an amount deemed appropriate, less any non-recoverable expenses already incurred.
